Vaporizers Are Mainstream Enough for NYT Style Section
The East Coast is about a year behind reporting on West Coast trends but pretty cool to see NYT Style include vaporizers. I’m interested in seeing the marketing geared towards female cannabis users. I’ve always been a fan of Claudia Gold and anything she does with Clawmoney. I haven’t tried her pen but the design is on point and so is their lifestyle brand.

"Kurt Cannabis meets Connie Cancer"

This is pretty funny with Roseanne Barr doing the voice of Connie Cancer

I didn’t know how to respond to finding out a good friend of mine has leukemia. She mentioned it to me in the way she always brings up bad news, out of the blue and with a well crafted joke. I tried joking back but ended up worrying and questioning just….why. Why? After awhile, I just talked to her the way we always have. That’s what feels natural. We made jokes interweaved with talking about statistic rates and alternative treatments.
Cancer though? Fuck cancer. This is one of the times I wish CBD oil flowed like water.

White Fire OG //Girl Scout Cookies

I love these customizable honeycomb glass tiles by Bespoke Glass Tile. Can’t help but think they’d be perfect for a pot shop or dab princess’ bedroom.

"I wrote about my experiences because I thought too many people tell young folks, “I never did anything wrong. Who, Moi? - never I. I have no skeletons in my closet. In fact, I have no closet.” They lie like that and then young people find themselves in situations and they think, “Damn I must be a pretty bad guy. My mom or dad never did anything wrong.” They can’t forgive themselves and go on with their lives. So I wrote the book Gather Together in My Name [about her past as a sex worker]."

At the office, all the ladies have been on a good roll (haha) of smoking GSC or Strawberry Cheesecake blunts on mid-day breaks. This is a work in progress for our break time social club, Blunts + Broads. Mostly we just eat snacks and YouTube guilty pleasure songs from our youth.

2. Cannabis-related shows worth watching: Getting Doug with High

I really love Doug Benson’s live show Getting Doug with High where he smokes with fellow comedians. It has room for improvements (what about edibles, Doug?) but I still catch up on it weekly.

Highlights: Tommy Chong being the most adorable stoner ever and referring to people using vaporizers as “intellectuals.”

Cannabis-related shows worth watching

1. Ideal

image

All 7 seasons of Graham Duff’s Ideal are such a treat to watch. This doesn’t show cannabis in a positive light, but it’s interesting to see what the BBC allowed on air from 2005-2011 before cancelling the show. It’s a dark-comedy based around a couch dealer, Moz, and the different characters that come to and from his apartment.

The soundtrack is the best I’ve heard on a show, ranging from  90’s house  to The Fall and Goldfrapp. There are various cameos, too, like this one of Mark E. Smith as Jesus.

Also, it’s a good thing.
